Hello there! We are Michael and Shannon Carbaugh. We want to welcome you to our energize marriage blog. We have been married for over 20 years and want to share with you the skills and strategies that have helped us keep our marriage energized.

We have made building marriages a focal point of our lives. We have taught couples conferences and provided individual couples with personal coaching. We will be writing about dating (before and after marriage), marriage enrichment, marital intimacy, and other topics that revolve around the topic of marriage.
Our goal is to provide practical guidance to help you energize you marriage. Keep reading to learn more about us.
About Mike
I am Mike. I am a "Texas Yankee". By that, I mean I was born and raised in Texas, but have spent the last 30 years in New England. (BTW, that does not include New York, were pretty up tight about that.)
Why did I stay in New England (I get that question a lot) but the answer is pretty easy...Shannon? Shannon and I met at college in Boston. While I would like to say we fell madly in love at first sight, that wasn't our story. However, we were great friends in college. After I graduated we started a long distance relationship. I was in Texas, and Shannon was in still in Boston. I do not recommend this. However, it worked for us.

We were married in 1996 and soon began our family. By soon, I mean mine month and 2 week later. I also do not recommend this. We did not plan on having children so soon. Now our family is growing again. Our Oldest son is married and we are waiting on grandchildren.
